Leading the Industry

The Auto Locksmith Association, the world’s largest Auto specific, locksmiths Association, has been at the forefront of negotiations with the vehicle manufacturers and the European Commission to gain access to security data in order to provide a more efficient solution to Auto Key related issues.

Since 2005 we have been working as part of an industry initiative through the VSDG (Vehicle Security Data Group) which includes industry related representation from groups such as the Home Office, Metropolitan Police, ACPO (Association of chief Police Officers), Thatcham, AA, RAC, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and many more.

Our aim is simple. We require access to security data by request of our customers in order to produce and program car keys and security related products. We require that such data should only be granted to Accredited persons who have fulfilled specific security and background checks. It is our aim to be granted secure access to this data whilst maintaining the high standards of security that the vehicle manufacturers have worked so hard to put in place.

If you are a vehicle owner you can be sure that your local ALA member is fully aware of today’s industry related issues and is working hard to make sure that the next time you need the services of an Auto Locksmith, your local ALA locksmith will be the right choice.

If you are Vehicle Locksmith and would like to be part of a responsible and forward thinking Association then click on the Join icon. Don't just watch; help us shape the future of our industry.

Trials have already taken place therefore some of our members have achieved the current Accredited status
